Jonathan Pageau

Jonathan Pageau is a liturgical artist, author, and speaker. His YouTube channel and podcast, The Symbolic World, focuses on the symbolic patterns in ancient stories and how they help us navigate the rapidly fragmenting world of post-modernity.

In 2022, he founded Symbolic World Press to focus on retelling the foundational stories of our civilization, as well as new stories told using the symbolic insights he has gleaned. He and his brother Matthieu Pageau and artist Cord Nielson began with the GodsDog: Monster graphic novel, and following its initial success, the press kicked off the Tales for Once & Ever series with Snow White and the Widow Queen.

Tales for Once & Ever retells eight classic fairy tales in a fresh new voice, one which respects the source material while also revealing the deeper structures of the stories and the ways they are more interconnected than modern people realize.

Heather Pollington

Heather Pollington is an artist and designer who has worked on major fantasy and fairy tale film franchises. She specializes in medieval and decorative art and brings those older traditions into storybook illustration.

She designed and illustrated Snow White and the Widow Queen and Rapunzel and the Evil Witch, and she shaped the look of the whole series, from the logo to the covers.

Éloïse Scherrer

Éloïse Scherrer found her direction in Tolkien and Lewis, the writers who first showed her what a storybook world could be. She has spent her career illustrating European fantasy, and she describes herself as a specialist in the spirit of childhood and in maps of inner kingdoms.

Her delicate drawings recall medieval manuscripts and old storybooks. She illustrated Jack and the Fallen Giants and The Valiant Little Tailor, and her crowded, layered scenes are worth reading slowly.
